It Comes to This

So much seems to happen at once. Just when we think we have a handle on things, BLAM-O! Life says no. How many times have you let that slow you down? Cause you to stumble and lose all momentum? I know I have. There was a time when the universe conspired against me and I let it run wild.

I’d just defended my thesis and was ready to take control of my brand, my business. Armed with a tentative grasp of what I was about to attempt and where I wanted to go, I jumped in with both feet. And then Covid happened. Talk about hitting the breaks.

Flash forward a few years and the engines are purring. The game is moving. I’m making great strides toward my goals but am frustrated at moving so slow. A step away, I can’t seem to make the next level. But don’t worry, friends. We got this. You and I.

The moral of the story is: don’t let life get in your way. Stop being comfortable with being uncomfortable. Like my friends in the New Zealand Special Forces say, who dares wins.

  1. I can’t agree with you about moving slow. In the 5 years or so that I have been following you I have seen you and your books grow in leap and bounds. You even put the brakes on and said ” I am not happy with the artwork on my covers. You improved them. Then you weren’t happy with the editing of some of your books, so you redid them! Plus writing several other books at the same time. Not to mention a Masters, creating Warfighters Books and the Coms you have attended. If You were a family member, I would be popping a few Champagne corks and Bourbon to celebrate with you. Keep up the great work! Deb
